What is the ruling on a deferred loan from a bank, such that repayment begins after the first loan is concluded?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
A loan is either a benevolent loan (), which is permissible whether it is for a deferred or immediate term, or it is a loan with a stipulated interest or benefit, which is forbidden by scholarly consensus. A bank loan with interest is religiously forbidden. Whoever is involved in it must repent, feel remorse, and resolve not to return to such a transaction.
