What is the ruling on purchasing a car for a media services company through a long-term lease-to-own contract, knowing that this contract is not free of the suspicion of usurious dealings?

Leasing ending in ownership has permissible and impermissible forms. Among the permissible forms is a lease contract that enables the lessee to utilize the asset in exchange for a known rent and for a known period, accompanied by a contract of gift of the asset to the lessee, contingent upon the full payment of the rent, either through an independent contract or a promise of gift after the rent is paid. The European Council for Fatwa (definition) and Research has permitted long-term car leasing that ends with the option to keep the car at an agreed-upon price or return it, without considering the interest that the lessor takes into account in the rent.
