The answer

It is not permissible to borrow from banks with interest because it is from the forbidden riba (usury), whether it is to pay off debts or for trade. Borrowing in this way does not solve problems but increases them, and wealth acquired through riba will be erased by Allah. Creditors must give respite to the debtor in difficulty, and the debtor must strive to repay the debt and be economical in his actions.
