What is the ruling on working as an accountant in a contracting company whose profits come from bids and government projects, and which has Sharia violations such as paying bribes to complete work or reduce zakat, the sponsor taking a percentage from foreigners, and lending workers sums to buy cars in the company's name for a monthly fee, knowing that the nature of the accountant's work includes reviewing and signing all company documents?

Working as an accountant in a company whose primary activity is permissible carries no objection, provided that one avoids directly engaging in or assisting with any prohibited activity, such as bribery or calculating usurious interest. This is based on the Almighty's saying: "And do not cooperate in sin and aggression," and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed the one who consumes usury, the one who feeds it, its scribe, and its two witnesses. If it is not possible to avoid forbidden things, then it is not permissible to work.
