Would you advise me to start a project with my only money, or to keep it in the bank to face any future expenses?

We advise you to perform Istikhara (prayer for guidance) and consult with people of sound judgment and experience. The money can be invested in low-risk projects such as Islamic banks. This is preferable to leaving it uninvested lest charity consumes it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, whoever is a guardian of an orphan who has wealth, let him invest it and not leave it until charity consumes it." Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi. If the money is in an interest-based bank, withdraw it and donate its interest to public Muslim welfare.
