Is it obligatory for a student to go out to the mosque for congregational prayer when there is a prayer room in the college, and is it permissible to pray in congregation after the lecture if the prayer is delayed from its time but its time has not expired, and is it obligatory to go out to the mosque with the adhan or just before the iqama?

Prayer in a musalla (prayer area) is permissible, and it is not obligatory to go to the mosque, although prayer in a dedicated mosque is superior and carries greater reward. It is not obligatory to perform the prayer at the very beginning of its time, nor to go to it immediately upon the adhan (definition) (call to prayer). Rather, it is permissible to delay going until close to the iqamah (definition) (call to stand for prayer), even though arriving early at the mosque to attain the virtues of the first row, perform the ratibah (supererogatory prayers), and await the congregational prayer is desirable.
