The answer

It is not permissible to delay the prayer beyond its appointed time, for Allah Almighty says: "Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a book [to be performed] at appointed times." And Jibreel clarified to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, the time for each prayer. However, if a person experiences something, such as sleep, and the time for prayer passes, then he should pray it as a make-up (qada'), and its manner is the same as its performance (ada'), and he should pray it in congregation if possible, just as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his companions did when sleep overcame them during a journey until the sun rose, and they prayed it then.
