Is it permissible to perform congregational prayers in the prayer rooms located in university housing, given the presence and proximity of a mosque?

Congregational prayer is obligatory in the mosque. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, strongly encouraged it and did not grant the blind man permission to pray in his home if he heard the call to prayer. Mosques have a special virtue and differ from prayer rooms (musallas) whose location can be changed or which can be sold. If the mosque is close and its (call to prayer) can be heard, then it is obligatory to go to it. However, if it is very far and the adhan cannot be heard, then it is permissible to pray in prayer rooms. الدعاة (preachers/callers to Islam) should use wisdom in encouraging students to pray in the mosque.
