Is one excused, when he perspires excessively and finds it difficult to bathe for every prayer, from abandoning congregational prayer in the mosque for some of the obligatory prayers, especially with the cold weather at Fajr time?

If a Muslim is afflicted with an unpleasant body odor that cannot be masked by perfume, he is excused from attending congregational prayers and is prevented from entering the mosque to avert harm. He is hoped to receive reward [from Allah], and he must remove this odor to the best of his ability. The jurists have stipulated that the presence of an unpleasant odor is an excuse for not attending congregational prayers, and this is supported by the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) hadith (definition): “Whoever eats onions, garlic, and leeks, let him not approach our mosque, for the angels are offended by what offends the children of Adam.”
