The answer

Every prayer performed by one who enters the mosque, whether it is an obligatory prayer (fard), a regular supererogatory prayer (ratibah), or a voluntary prayer (tatawwu’), whether it is performed on time (mu’addah), or made up (maqḍiyyah), or a vowed prayer (mandhurah), suffices as the “Tahiyyat al-Masjid” (greeting of the mosque), provided it consists of two rak’ahs or more. The greeting is not achieved by performing the funeral prayer (), or a prostration of recitation (sajdat al-tilawah), or a one-rak’ah prayer. The worshipper receives the reward for both the greeting and the obligatory or recommended prayer if he intends both prayers simultaneously.
