The answer

We advise the questioner to fear Allah and to maintain congregational prayer in the mosque, for it brings greater reward and is closer to Allah. Sins or people's talk should not prevent one from praying in the mosque; rather, prayer therein is a means for the forgiveness of sins. A Muslim should seek Allah's pleasure, and if he is sincere and strives to perform prayer in the mosque, he will find success and guidance, as Allah Almighty says: ﴿And those who strive for Us – We will surely guide them to Our ways.﴾ [Al-Ankabut: 69]. This striving is general, encompassing Allah's religion and seeking His pleasure.
