The answer

The prayer of the congregants is valid, and there is no disliking in their following this Imam as long as they do not criticize him for his religiosity. It is not permissible for them to backbite him. They should understand his situation, as his absence might be due to an excuse or with permission. If his negligence becomes apparent, they should advise him gently. It is not permissible for the Imam to neglect his duty, and he must not be absent except for an acceptable excuse. The prayer behind this Imam is valid, even if he is occasionally absent.
