The answer

The action mentioned is permissible, but it is contrary to what is most preferable. The one who does it does not incur sin, but he deprives himself of the reward and recompense that result from hastening to prayer and answering the call. It is a cause for laziness and for falling behind the congregation entirely, and it misses some of the legal objectives of congregational prayer, such as increasing the number of Muslims and uniting their hearts.

Moreover, the number of worshippers in roadside mosques is often less than in regular mosques, which causes one to miss out on the greater of two rewards, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A man's prayer with another man is purer than his prayer alone, and his prayer with two men is purer than his prayer with one man, and what is more numerous is more beloved to Allah Almighty."

These mosques should be left for the prayer of passersby and those who have work circumstances and find it difficult to wait for prayer in regular mosques. As for the healthy, resident person who hears the call and has no excuse, he should go directly to the mosque.
