What is the ruling on habitually performing the Iqamah for the ‘Isha prayer immediately after the Adhan in the mosque, given that this does not allow worshippers to say: “Allahumma Rabba Hadhihi Ad-Da’wati At-Tammah…”?

Connecting the Adhan (definition) of Isha with the Iqama deprives many worshippers of attaining the opening Takbeer and perhaps even congregational prayer. It also causes them to miss the Sunnah (definition) of the two rak'ahs between the Adhan and the Iqama and leads to abandoning the remembrance (dhikr) and supplication (du'a) after the Adhan. Furthermore, it contradicts the Sunnah of delaying the Isha prayer. Therefore, a time gap should be left between the Adhan and the Iqama to achieve these virtues, knowing that the prayer is valid as long as it is performed within its time.
