What is the ruling on hurrying to the mosque due to external factors?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade rushing to prayer and commanded walking with tranquility and dignity, as narrated by Muslim and others: "When the iqamah (definition) for prayer is called, do not come to it rushing, but come to it with tranquility. Whatever you catch, pray, and whatever you miss, complete. For indeed, when one of you intends to perform prayer, he is in prayer." And in Al-Bukhari: "When you hear the iqamah, walk to prayer with tranquility and dignity, and do not rush."

It is recommended for one intending to join the congregational prayer to walk with tranquility and dignity, unless there is an excuse such as fear of an enemy, cold, or rain, in which case the dislike (of rushing) is removed. Some jurists held that there is no dislike in rushing for one who fears missing the entire congregation, because missing it cannot be compensated.
