What is the ruling on working in a place close to a mosque, yet where there is immodest display and which distracts from prayer in the mosque?

It is not permissible for a Muslim to absent himself from congregational prayer in the mosque except for a legitimate excuse. The shop owner must go to the mosque and leave the shop at prayer time, following the example of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who did not permit a blind man to absent himself from congregational prayer. He must observe prayers at their appointed times in congregation in the mosque, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "Guard strictly the prayers, especially the middle prayer; and stand before Allah with humility," and the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Prayer in congregation is twenty-seven degrees superior to prayer performed individually." If the shop contains forbidden things that he cannot change, he must strive to distance himself from it, and it is not permissible for him to remain in it except out of necessity.
