The time for Friday prayer (Jumu'ah) begins with the entry of the Dhuhr (noon) prayer time and ends with its exit, according to the majority of scholars. If the 'Asr (afternoon) prayer time begins, then the Dhuhr prayer becomes obligatory. The Maliki school of thought holds that the time for Jumu'ah extends from Dhuhr until sunset.
