Is the time for increasing prayers upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) on Friday limited to before the Friday prayer, or does it extend to include the entire day?

The time for prayer extends from the night of Friday until sunset on its day. The restriction of praying upon the Prophet a thousand times is mentioned in a hadith (definition) narrated by Abu al-Sheikh from Anas, with the wording: "Whoever prays upon me a thousand times in a day will not die until he is given glad tidings of Paradise." It is also narrated from Ibn Shahin with the wording: "Whoever prays upon me a thousand times in a day will not die until he sees his seat in Paradise." Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned that this hadith is only known through the hadith of Al-Hakam ibn Atiyyah, about whom Al-Daraqutni said: "He narrated traditions from Thabit that are not corroborated." Imam Ahmad said: "There is no harm in him, except that Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi narrated objectionable hadiths from him." It is also narrated from Ibn Mas'ud that he said to Zayd ibn Wahb: "O Zayd ibn Wahb, do not neglect on Friday to pray upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, a thousand times, saying: 'O Allah, bless the unlettered Prophet.'"
