What is the ruling on Friday prayer for Shafi'i students in Sunway colleges in Malaysia, and is it permissible for them to emulate the Hanbalis or Hanafis under these circumstances?

Friday prayer is obligatory upon every Muslim, adult, resident man. It is not permissible to miss it except for an excuse. An exam is not an excuse to miss Friday prayer unless missing it would lead to significant harm, such as expulsion from the university or a burdensome fine. In such a case, it is permissible for them to miss it and pray Dhuhr, because among the permissible excuses for missing Friday prayer is the fear of losing money, and the fear of harm to one's livelihood which a person needs.
