The answer

Friday is an Eid for Muslims, and the Friday prayer is an obligation upon every free, adult, sane, resident, healthy male. A Muslim must be diligent about it and avoid anything that would cause him to miss it, because “people shall cease abandoning Friday prayers, or Allah will seal their hearts, and then they will be among the negligent.” If a Muslim needs to sleep before the prayer and fears missing it, he must take the necessary precautions to help him wake up for it on time. If sleep overcomes him after taking the necessary precautions, then there is no sin upon him, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “There is no negligence in sleep.”
