What is the ruling on the prayer of someone who cannot perform Friday prayer due to the absence of a nearby mosque and being prevented from leaving work?
If the bank is usurious (Riba-based), the ruling regarding working in it has already been established. As for prayer, if the brother's workplace is far from the mosques and takes a long time to reach them, then the congregational prayer (Salat al-Jama'ah) should be considered: If he hears the call to prayer () from the nearest mosque without a loudspeaker, then congregational prayer is obligatory for him, unless there is a valid excuse. As for the Friday prayer (Salat al-Jumu'ah), a distinction is made between whether the place is outside the city, in which case it is obligatory for whoever hears the call, or inside the city, in which case it is obligatory whether he hears the call or not. If the conditions for obligation are met, he must fear Allah and fulfill his duties.
