The answer

Scholars differ on the place of the prostration of forgetfulness ( al-sahw). Some say it is after the salutation (), some say before it, and some elaborate. If one performs the prostration of forgetfulness, one then recites the for it and then gives the salutation. Ibn Taymiyyah preferred that one does not recite the tashahhud for it, but rather performs two prostrations and then gives the salutation.
