The answer

One who is overwhelmed by doubt and experiences it frequently is not required to perform the prostration of forgetfulness ( al-sahw), even if this is due to absentmindedness. Some jurists, however, consider it commendable to perform the prostration of forgetfulness after the salutations () for one who is overwhelmed by doubt, as a way to vex Satan.
