What is the ruling on my prayer after making a mistake in saying "Lord, forgive me" between the two prostrations and not performing the prostration of forgetfulness?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
The worshipper's saying "Lord, forgive me" between the two prostrations, the remembrance recited in bowing and prostration, the takbirat of transition, and the sayings "Allah hears the one who praises Him" and "Our Lord, to You be all praise," are all from the sunan (recommended acts) of prayer according to the majority of scholars. Therefore, their omission or error in them does not necessitate the prostration of forgetfulness ( al-sahw). Consequently, intentionally or forgetfully omitting the prostration of forgetfulness does not invalidate the prayer.
