The question

What is the ruling on one who added to their prayer, such as sitting for the Tashahhud in a rak'ah, and when they said the taslim, they performed two prostrations for the زيادة (addition) and did not say the taslim, taking into account the opinion of those who consider the taslim obligatory? And what is the ruling on a prostration of forgetfulness (sujud al-sahw) from which the taslim was omitted? And what is the ruling on one who added to their prayer and a long separation occurred, and they did not perform the prostration of forgetfulness?

The answer

The prayer is not invalidated by omitting the salam from the post-prostration ( ba'di), even if the worshiper adheres to the opinion that it is obligatory. And if the worshiper adds to his prayer and a long interval passes without performing the post-prostration, his prayer is also valid.
