What should one do who has bowed twice inadvertently in a single rak'ah?

If someone mistakenly adds an extra bowing (ruku') in their prayer, their prayer is still valid. What is prescribed for them is to perform the prostrations of forgetfulness ( al-sahw). Scholars have differed regarding its ruling, between obligation and recommendation.
