If a girl does not show signs of puberty, there is no sin upon her for abandoning prayer, as the pen is lifted from her. However, she must be commanded to pray from the age of seven and disciplined for it from the age of ten, and this is a duty upon parents. A Muslim, before puberty, should accustom himself to prayer and maintaining it at its appointed times, especially if he is close to the age of puberty, for the importance of prayer is immense, and it is the pillar of the religion.
