The answer

Prayer is the best act of worship after the two declarations of faith (Shahadatayn), because it is the second pillar of Islam. It has been authentically narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "And know that the best of your deeds is prayer." This is because it includes the recitation of the Quran and various forms of remembrance (dhikr). Remembrance is not preferred over prayer except for a reason, such as the times when prayer is forbidden.
