What is meant by "continuous" (mulāzamah) in the categorization of سلس (urinary incontinence/ istiḥāḍah), and is سلس considered continuous for its صاحب (the person experiencing it) if it occurs several times a day for brief periods, or does "continuous" mean that its discharge is uninterrupted such that the duration of discharge is longer than the cessation?

The summary of the Maliki madhhab (definition) regarding the emission of hadath (definition) (ritual impurity) is divided into two cases: 1. The emission is regular and occurs at a specific time. In this case, the prayer is either delayed or brought forward depending on the time of the hadath emission. 2. The emission is irregular. In this case, one estimates which is more frequent: its emission or its cessation. If its emission is more frequent, then it falls under the ruling of سلس ( سلس, continuous ritual impurity).

Some Maliki jurists have emphasized that سلس is considered only during the prayer times of the day and night, and it is not taken into account outside of prayer times.
