What is the ruling on my prayer if I pray after hearing the call to prayer from a nearby mosque, while other mosques have not yet called to prayer?

For the prayer to be valid, one must know or have strong a presumption that the time for it has begun. It is permissible to start praying after hearing the adhan (definition) from a trustworthy muezzin who is knowledgeable of the prayer times, as it is apparent that he would not call the adhan except after the time has begun. Scholars have explicitly stated the permissibility of following a righteous muezzin who is knowledgeable of the prayer times, citing the hadith (definition): "The muezzin is entrusted." If you follow a righteous muezzin, your prayer is valid even if you hear someone else call the adhan later than him.
