What is the ruling on covering the head with a turban during prayer and otherwise? And was the turban a custom among people before the Prophetic mission? And was the Prophet's turban a custom of his people or one of his Sunnahs?

Wearing the turban is a practical Sunnah (definition) of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and it is recommended for a man to cover his head with it, both in prayer and outside of it, for those who adorn themselves with it, based on the Almighty's saying: {O Children of Adam, take your adornment at every place of prayer}. The turban was among the customs of the Arabs before Islam, serving as their crowns.
