What is the ruling on praying in a mosque that contains two graves, one of which is in a room outside the prayer hall and the other in the graveyard?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
Scholars have differed concerning the ruling on praying in a mosque that contains a grave. The majority of scholars hold that it is disliked (makrooh), while the Malikis permit it without any dislike. The Hanbalis, however, deem it forbidden () and consider the prayer invalid.
However, if the grave is outside the mosque and a wall separates it from the worshippers, then there is no issue with praying at that time.
