The answer

Umar ibn al-Khattab's embracing of Islam, may Allah be pleased with him, was a great conquest through which Allah honored Islam and Muslims. His conversion took place in Dhul-Hijjah in the sixth year of prophethood, three days after Hamza, may Allah be pleased with him, embraced Islam. It was a fruit of the Prophet's prayer, peace and blessings be upon him: "O Allah, strengthen Islam with the more beloved of these two men to You: Umar ibn al-Khattab or Abu Jahl ibn Hisham."
