It is legislated for you to shorten (qasr) and combine (jam‘) the four-rak‘ah prayers during this distance, both on your way to the aforementioned city and on your return from it, up to the outskirts of your town if you are a city dweller, or up to the first house of your encampment if you are a Bedouin.
