It is permissible for a traveler to shorten and combine prayers while en route, but this is not permissible upon reaching their destination if they intend to reside there for four full days or more. However, if they intend to reside for less than that, they are permitted to shorten and combine prayers. When returning home, it is permissible to shorten and combine prayers while en route, but not upon arrival. A traveler who intends to reside in a country for more than four days completes their prayers and does not combine them from the moment of their arrival, because they become a resident.
