The answer

If a person invalidates their ablution during the prostration of forgetfulness ( al-sahw) before the salutation (), their prayer becomes void. However, if the prostration is performed after the salutation, their prayer remains valid. Some scholars have elaborated on this ruling: some hold that their prayer becomes void, while others are of the view that their prayer is valid if they perform ablution and then complete the prostration.
