Does prolonged bleeding (istihadah) have a specific duration, and is it obligatory to make up the prayers that were performed during the time of prolonged bleeding after the prayer time has begun?

If the bleeding exceeds fifteen days, you are considered to have Istihadah (definition) (prolonged non-menstrual bleeding), and you should refer back to your previous menstrual habit. Anything beyond that is Istihadah.

You should perform ghusl (definition) (ritual bath) at the end of your usual menstrual period, then perform wudu' (ablution) for each prayer after its time has entered. With this wudu', you can pray both the obligatory and supererogatory prayers until the time for that prayer exits.

You are required to make up the prayers you missed because you mistakenly thought you were menstruating, and the prayers for which you performed wudu' before the time entered, according to many scholars.
