The answer

Ahmad and the compilers of the Sunan narrated from Al-Hakam Al-Ghifari that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade a man from performing ablution with the leftover water of a woman's purification. Ibn Hibban and Ibn Majah authenticated this , and Al-Tirmidhi graded it as (good), while Al-Bukhari and Al-Nawawi deemed it weak. There is a corroborating narration for this hadith in Abu Dawud and Al-Nasa'i: "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade a woman from performing with a man's leftover water, or a man from performing ghusl with a woman's leftover water. They should both scoop water together." Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said: "Its narrators are trustworthy, and I have not found a strong argument from those who deemed it deficient." Al-Albani authenticated it.
