If semen is discharged through masturbation, ghusl (definition) (ritual bath) becomes obligatory; if it is not discharged, then it is not obligatory. Verse 235 of Surat Al-Baqarah permits alluding to the proposal of women in their 'iddah (definition) (waiting period) after the death of their husbands, without explicit declaration. It is not permissible to secretly promise them marriage. The exception in "except that you speak a recognized saying" is a disconnected exception, meaning that the recognized saying, which is allusion, is permissible. The verse does not permit getting to know women unless one intends to marry, and then only through lawful looking and in the presence of her mahram (definition) (unmarriageable kin). Surat Al-Baqarah is mighty, and it has been reported concerning it: "Recite Surat Al-Baqarah, for taking it is a blessing, and leaving it is a regret, and the sorcerers cannot confront it." It is the pinnacle of the Quran and expels Satan from the house. Love for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is the foundation of faith, embodied in obeying him and following his law, and the manner of sending prayers upon him is the Abrahamic prayer.
