Is ghusl obligatory for someone who suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder regarding recurrent nocturnal emissions after reading the hadith, "A woman must perform ghusl if she sees water," given her inability to distinguish between manī (seminal fluid) and madhī (pre-seminal fluid), her excessive discharge, and considering the high cost of water?

Waswasah (obsessive whispering/thoughts) is an illness that corrupts one's religion and worldly life. Its cure lies in ignoring it and not paying attention to it. You must ignore these obsessive thoughts and not dwell on them. Sleep whenever and however you wish. Do not perform ghusl (definition) (ritual bath) after waking up from sleep unless you are absolutely certain that semen necessitating ghusl has been discharged. If you see discharge and doubt it, ghusl is not obligatory unless you are certain that semen has been discharged. The matter is easy, for the religion of Allah is ease. Do not be bothered by these delusions. And know that practicing masturbation for the mentioned purpose is forbidden, and you must repent from it, seek forgiveness, and supplicate for healing, while also consulting trusted doctors.
