Is it a condition for the validity of ghusl after intercourse and the emission of semen to have deep sleep or to urinate before performing ghusl?

The scholars have not stipulated, for the validity of ghusl (definition) after intercourse, that the emission of semen must be followed by deep sleep or the voiding of urine. As for the emission of semen after performing ghusl, Abu Hanifa and Muhammad held that ghusl must be performed again, while Abu Yusuf did not deem it obligatory. The preponderant view is that performing ghusl a second time is not obligatory.
