Deodorant cream and similar products do not affect purification (taharah (definition)) if they do not have a physical bulk (jirm) that prevents water from reaching the skin. So, if only the color of the cream remains without its bulk, purification is valid. However, if it has a physical bulk that prevents water from reaching the skin, purification is not valid, and it must be removed. If the oil does not have a physical bulk, it does not cause harm, but it is emphasized to pass the hand over the limb to ensure water reaches it.
