Is it permissible to cut hair before performing ghusl following menstruation?

It is permissible to trim nails and hair before or after performing ghusl (definition) (ritual bath) after menstruation, provided that the trimming of a woman's hair does not involve imitation of men or infidel women. The permissibility of a woman shortening her hair is evidenced by what the wives of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, narrated, for they used to take from their heads until it was like a "wafrat" (hair that extends beyond the ears). This action took place after his passing, peace and blessings be upon him. What is prohibited is shaving the hair completely, except due to an ailment or illness.
