Is it permissible to delay the assumption of ihram for Umrah until Friday, after arriving in Jeddah, knowing that the miqat has already been passed?

If you intend to perform 'Umrah (definition) during your trip, it is not permissible to pass the Miqat (definition) without entering into a state of Ihram (definition) for the ritual, and saying, "Labbayk Allahumma 'Umrah (Here I am, O Allah, for 'Umrah)." Airline crews usually alert passengers to the location of the Miqat. You can prepare for Ihram by performing ghusl (definition) (ritual bath) and wearing the Ihram garments before reaching the Miqat. Upon aligning with the Miqat, it is obligatory to declare your intention for the ritual (Ihram). If you pass the Miqat without declaring your intention and entering into Ihram, you must return to it to assume Ihram from there. Otherwise, a compensatory sacrifice (dam) becomes obligatory upon you for neglecting a duty. There is no special virtue in delaying 'Umrah until Friday; rather, the virtue lies in entering into Ihram from the prescribed Miqat and completing the ritual.
