A female traveler to Saudi Arabia who intends to perform during her trip must enter into the state of for Umrah from the she passes through, even if she has another purpose, such as shopping. It is advisable to enter into Ihram before reaching the Miqat, out of concern for possibly overshooting it. It is not permissible to delay entering into Ihram until Jeddah. Furthermore, menstruation does not prevent one from entering into Ihram, but circumambulation () is not permissible until after purity and performing (ritual bath).
