The answer

A man is not permitted to have intercourse with his wife until she is purified from menstruation and has performed (ritual bath). Allah Almighty has made the permissibility of approaching a menstruating woman contingent upon two matters: the cessation of blood flow and the dryness of the area, then performing ghusl with water. If the blood stops or the woman sees the white discharge (al-qassah al-bayḍā’), she is purified, and the subsequent appearance of yellowish discharge does not harm her.
