There is no minimum duration for postpartum bleeding (). So, when a woman becomes pure after childbirth, even if it is only after a few days, she is obligated to perform (ritual bath), pray, and fast. Purity is recognized by the emission of white discharge (al-qassah al-bayda') or complete dryness. The appearance of a few drops of blood after complete purity from nifas is not considered nifas and does not prevent the woman from her prayers and fasting.
