What is due upon me for having abandoned prayer, believing that purification had not occurred, knowing that I was unaware that the white discharge is among the signs of purification?

There are two signs of purification from menstruation: complete dryness and the white discharge. Whoever observes these signs is obligated to perform ghusl (definition) (ritual bath), prayer, and fasting. The questioner must make up the prayers missed between the first purification and the discharge of the small amount of blood, and she should continue making them up until her obligation is fulfilled. The blood discharged after the white discharge is considered menstruation if it occurs before the completion of the usual period, and istihadah (definition) (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding) if it occurs after the completion of the usual period and before 15 days have passed since purification.
