What is the ruling on prayers performed after the first seminal emission (ihtilam) before knowing about the obligation of ghusl, and is making them up (qada’) valid, and is it permissible to perform the current prayer in congregation and the make-up prayer with another congregation, and does the intention of the Imam differ from that of the worshipper in this case?

The most cautious approach is to repeat the prayers that were performed while in a state of janabah (definition) (major ritual impurity) due to ignorance of the obligation of ghusl (definition) (ritual bath). It is permissible to pray with a second congregation with the intention of making up (qada') the prayers, and according to the Shafi'is, it is not a condition for the intention of the imam and the follower to be the same in terms of whether the prayer is a current performance (ada') or a makeup (qada'). However, the majority of scholars hold that following in prayer is not valid in this case, stipulating that the prayer must be united in cause, action, and description.
