The answer

The most cautious approach is to repeat the prayers that were performed while in a state of (major ritual impurity) due to ignorance of the obligation of (ritual bath). It is permissible to pray with a second congregation with the intention of making up (qada') the prayers, and according to the Shafi'is, it is not a condition for the intention of the imam and the follower to be the same in terms of whether the prayer is a current performance (ada') or a makeup (qada'). However, the majority of scholars hold that following in prayer is not valid in this case, stipulating that the prayer must be united in cause, action, and description.
