The best way to perform ' (purification after defecation or urination) is to wipe with tissues or similar materials, and then wash with water. If urine has spread to affect most of the glans (head of the penis), or if feces have spread to reach the buttocks, then washing with water becomes obligatory, and wiping with tissues alone is not sufficient. It is sufficient to wash or wipe only the area of impurity.
